The University of New Haven is a recognized leader in experiential education, giving students the experience employers are looking for. Internship is one of the pillars of experiential learning - providing the foundation needed to build your resume while still in school.
Political science students can apply for internships in the Connecticut General Assembly, the U.S. Senate and Congress, at the United Nations, the State Department and elsewhere.
UNH political science faculty include Congressman Chris Shays, a 5-term representative from Connecticut; Dr. Howard Stoffer, a career diplomat with the U.S. State Department who also served as a senior foreign service officer at the United Nations; and Dr. Matt Schmidt, who taught military operations planning for the U.S. Army’s School of Advanced Military Studies.
Motivated students can take advantage of the experience and contacts of our faculty to create individualized internships that develop job skills and open job networking opportunities.
