Tuition Discounts for Corporations, Public Safety, and Other Entities
The University of New Haven is pleased to offer tuition discounts to employees of various corporations and organizations, as well as public safety personnel. For students enrolled in our online programs, please refer to the Online Program Discounts section for further information.
The University currently offers tuition discounts to the following groups and entities:
A 50% tuition discount is offered to part-time and graduate students who are first responders and other active public safety personnel (local, state, federal, international) including:
- Police Officers
- Volunteer Firefighters
- Full-time Emergency Medical Technicians
- Social Services Investigators
- Corrections, Parole, Peace and Probation Officers
Active firefighters of the Allingtown Fire Department are eligible for a 100% tuition discount.
A 30% discount on our Forensic Genetic Genealogy Certificate program is offered to any student employed in a crime lab or in law enforcement.
University of New Haven alumni will automatically be granted a minimum of 20% tuition assistance for any on-ground graduate program. Please note, this discount cannot be combined with an assistantship or other financial incentives, such as corporate sponsorship, full or partial scholarship, or sponsorship. City of West Haven Employees (other than Fire or Police) are eligible for a 50% tuition discount.
A 20% tuition discount is offered to employees and members of the following corporations and organizations:

- Institute for Internal Controls
- Lighting Quotient
- Lockheed Martin
- Love Justice

- Raytheon Technologies
- Southern CT Gas Company
- United Illuminating
- Yale University employees
A 30% discount is offered to employees associated with the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM).
Online Program Discounts
Students enrolled in the following online programs who fall into any of the above categories are entitled to a maximum 20% tuition discount per semester upon receipt of eligibility verification. Please see below regarding eligibility requirements.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- M.S. Accounting
- M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- M.S. Cyber Management and Leadership
- M.S. Esports Business
- Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)
- Master of Public Health (MPH)
- M.S. Business Analytics
In order to receive a tuition discount, students must submit verification of their employment to the Bursar's Office. Students will need to request a letter on their company letterhead from their human resources representative or their direct supervisor verifying their current employment. Letters must be dated no more than 30 days prior to the date of submission.

To continue receiving a tuition discount, employment verification letters must be submitted once per academic year and are due two weeks prior to the first day of classes.
The following online programs are excluded from the tuition discount program:
- B.S. Degree Completion - Accounting
- B.S. Degree Completion - Business Management
- Degree Completion - Paramedicine
- B.S. Homeland Security Program
- Ph.D. Programs
The following on-ground programs are excluded from the tuition discount program:
- Executive MBA
It is the student's responsibility to contact our office and submit the appropriate documentation by the published due date.
These tuition discounts cannot be combined with any other institutional discount, award, grant or scholarship.
Tuition discounts are applicable to tuition charges only and are not retroactive under any circumstances. Discounts will not be applied to prior terms regardless of employment dates.
Academic tuition and fees are based on your enrollment status and number of credit hours.
