The M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (MAIOP) program at the University of New Haven provides students with an exciting, applied degree focused on the study of applying psychological principles to the workplace. Graduates of the program work with individuals and groups on organizational change and development, leadership and managerial development, conflict management, team or group dynamics, and strategic human resource management. In this program you will gain the professional knowledge and experience to improve the satisfaction and productivity of people at work.
Curriculum
The program provides 45 credits of coursework with three optional program concentrations. Interactive course study with I/O psychologists from industry and consulting, opportunities for research and engaging internships, and flexibility with scheduling and course curriculum provide you with a strong foundation for a successful career.

A graduate certificate in psychology of conflict management is also available.
Hands-On Application
For more than 20 years, the MAIOP internship program has provided students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities to apply knowledge and theory learned in the classroom. Interns typically work in human resources or organizational development and may be compensated. Our students have offered their talents to companies like Pratt & Whitney, Translux, MetroNorth, Yale University, Dale Carnegie Training, and more. Many of these experiences lead to employment opportunities following graduation from the program.
