Satellite imagery are an increasingly available and valuable source of data in many fields, including criminal justice, environmental science, and political science. This workshop will provide hands-on training in how to use satellite imagery to generate spatiotemporal data on crime events in ArcGIS Pro. You will track changes to looting at archaeological sites over time in Lower Egypt via satellite imagery and learn how to document those changes to create usable quantitative data for further analysis and visualization (a similar process that is used in intelligence and crime analysis). Experience working with ArcGIS Pro is not required.
If you are curious about working with satellite imagery or ArcGIS Pro and want to learn more or if you simply want to know what an archaeological looting pit looks like from space, come join us for the workshop!
