About Michelle
Michelle has been in the fitness industry since 2000 - she began her journey working part time at a fitness chain during college. It was that job that made her change her major from Physical Education to Exercise Science. The idea of working with people to better their physical health through exercise was a game changer. She continued that journey through her internship at Danbury Hospital's Pulmonary Rehab before graduating with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from CCSU in 2005. After graduation, Michelle immediately got to work. Over the last 16 years she has held positions in corporate, nonprofit, and campus recreation settings - even serving as the Assistant Director for New Haven's own ChargerREC from 2007 - 2014. After taking some time off to raise her son, she has gone back into the nonprofit sector, working for her local YMCA as a Group Fitness Instructor and Diabetes Educator. Michelle is thrilled to be back at the University of New Haven.
