Working with Christian Community Action has been eye opening for me, to say the least. I have been exposed to many hardworking individuals who work with this agency. I am able to see the work they do on a day-to-day basis, which has a huge impact on the daily lives of people in need.
The team that I am working side by side with is made up of incredible individuals who truly inspire me and make me realize that the work I am doing is making a difference. It is the little things that the organization takes into account that are especially meaningful, such as picking out the right food for everyone and making sure that there is always enough so that the people who need it are able to receive it.
We speak to the clients on a very personal level. This environment has made me more cognizant of the words I use, and it has made me realize that even the littlest things can go a long way.

Initially, I was not sure what to expect, and I was nervous and unsure of my position. However, this experience has given me a lot of wisdom that I could have not found elsewhere. When I perform a small act, such as handing someone an extra share of food because I know their family needs it and seeing how grateful they are, it gives me a sense of purpose.
This organization now has a place in my heart, and it amazes me that there are so many people willing to make such a change in this world by sacrificing for the sake of others. I know that my time here is purposeful and that this organization is necessary. It is important that it continues to feed those who need food – and that it inspires more people, just as it has inspired me.
I’m excited to continue to work with my colleagues to help more individuals in need.
