Expertise
With over 25 years of experience in the data center and managed services industries, Mr. Thompson has a proven track record of driving hyper growth for private equity owned technology businesses. He applies a rigorous discipline to the sales engagement process—understanding the unique needs of each customer, leading C-level executives through the decision process, and ensuring an end result that is results-focused and measurable. Prior to joining Evolve IP, Mr. Thompson had been chief revenue officer for Symmetry since October 2015, and was previously chief revenue officer at Latisys, a provider of IT outsourcing solutions. At both Latisys and Symmetry, he was instrumental in leading and executing growth strategies that enabled investors to exit with hundreds of millions of dollars in return on investment. Prior to his time at Latisys, Mr. Thompson held a series of increasingly responsible sales and marketing positions with Internap, a service provider of business technology. In 2007, he was named Internap’s senior vice president of global sales. He began his career with MCI, where he was director of sales.
Community Service
Mr. Thompson was elected to the University of New Haven’s Board of Governors in September 2019.
Education
Mr. Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a concentration in law enforcement administration from the University of New Haven, where he was also a member of the football team.
Personal
Mr. Thompson and his wife, Sunny, live in Atlanta, and they are the proud parents to two lovely, talented, and independent-minded teenage girls.
