Next Steps for Accepted International Undergraduate Students
In order to receive your I-20 if you are not currently attending school in the United States:
- Complete and submit the Financial Statement for International Students Form (FSIS) accompanied by an original bank statement from your sponsor or a signed letter from your bank on official bank stationary indicating adequate funds. The bank statement must be in English, and dated within 6 months of your intended admission start date. To download the FSIS form, click here. Or, submit your official Financial Guarantee if you are being sponsored by a government agency.
- Submit a clear copy of your passport information page showing your complete name, date of birth, country of birth and country of citizenship.
If you are currently on an F-1 visa transferring from another educational institution in the United States:
- Complete and submit the Financial Statement for International Students Form (FSIS) accompanied by an original bank statement from your sponsor or a signed letter from your bank on official bank stationary indicating adequate funds. The bank statement must be in English, and dated within 6 months of your intended admission start date. To download the FSIS form, click here. - Submit a clear copy of your passport information page showing your complete name, date of birth, country of birth and country of citizenship.
- Have the attached I-20 transfer form completed and returned to IntUGAdm@newhaven.edu or faxed to (203) 931-6053.
- After your SEVIS record has been transferred and you have been issued a University of New Haven I-20; Click here to complete the Enrollment Commitment Form and pay your non-refundable enrollment commitment fee of $500 if you choose to live on campus or $300 if you will not be living on campus. Please indicate your correct address to which your I-20 should be mailed (please do not use a PO Box address).
After You Receive Your I-20:
- Pay the SEVIS Fee Once You Receive Your I-20 Form. (The SEVIS fee must be paid after you obtain your I-20 or DS-2019 Form from the University of New Haven and before you go to your student visa interview at the U.S. embassy/consulate in your home country).
