About Baki
Bakhtawar (Baki) Izzat is the Employer Relations Manager for the Career Development Center and is bringing over 4 years of experience in community building, networking, social media marketing, event planning, creative outreach, and student academic/career support to her current role.
As a first generation-Pakistani-American-Muslim-female herself, Baki’s goal is to help prepare students from various socioeconomic and academic backgrounds for a professionally centered and excelling life by connecting them with meaningful and long-lasting resources. She has personally connected 2000+ students to professional growth opportunities in her previous roles as Certified Peer Educator, Teaching Assistant, Certified Career Mentor, independent Career Coach, and more, while locating and promoting resources to 10,000+ students digitally through various social media platforms.
As an Employer Relations Manager, Baki focuses on building relationships with internal/external organizations, partnering with employers for career fairs and employment opportunities for students, and campus recruitment. In addition to her professional work, Izzat graduated in the top ten percent of her college class and was the commencement speaker for her graduation. In 2019, Baki represented the United States at the United Nations International Diplomacy Forum in Thailand and in 2021, was one of the 12 recipients in the state to receive the Henry Barnard Distinguished Scholar Award.
